| Resumen: | El 17 de octubre de 2003 falleció uno de los autores más salientes de las letras españolas de las últimas décadas: Manuel Vázquez Montalbán. Estas páginas quieren presentar una semblanza de su obra y de su actividad y su imagen como escritor en general, caudalosa y febril, atravesada por las tensiones y conflictos entre el campo literario y el campo político; la alta literatura, el mercado y el acceso a un público masivo; la reelaboración y recodificación de diversos géneros, incluyendo la de sus objetivos, niveles de lectura y horizontes estéticos y políticos. En las últimas líneas se refiere y comenta brevemente la última novela del autor, Erec y Enide. On 17th October 2003 passed away one of the most salient authors within the Spanish literature in the last decades, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán. These pages intend to present a portrayal both of his work and of his activity and image as a writer in general, which has been so abundant as hectic, coined by the tensions existing between the literary and the political fields; between the sphere of high literature, the editorial market and the access to a massive reading public; through the redevelopment and recodification of several literary genres, including their aims, their demanding of literacy skills to the reader, and their esthetical horizons. Finally, the last novel of this author, Erec y Enide, is briefly summed up and commented. |
