"Tragedia y religión" : Suplicantes de Esquilo

| Resumen: | El trayecto "evolutivo" del canto al diálogo fundamentó una historiografía trágica que situó la predominancia lírica como antimodelo y confinó la lírica a los márgenes de la representación: el coro fue reducido a un espectáculo audiovisual como mero refuerzo del discurso hablado. Así, se disoció el diálogo del canto, el texto del espectáculo. Sin embargo, en Suplicantes de Esquilo la lírica está integrada indisolublemente al drama. El objetivo de este trabajo es demostrar el interés dramático de la lírica analizando cómo las danaides, con su doble identidad de coro protagonista, mientras cantan a o acerca de los dioses, llevan adelante la acción. The traditional idea of "evolution" from singing to dialogue in Greek tragedy determined the misinterpretation of the predominance of lyrics as an anti model, confining singing to the margins of representation: the chorus was reduced to a visual spectade, as a mere reinforcement of spoken discourse. Thus, the dialogue was dissociated from the singing and the text from the spectacle. However, in Aischylus' Supplices the lyrics are completely integrated into the drama. The aim of this paper is to demónstrate the dramatic interest of lyrics by analyzing how tlie Danaids, with its double identity of main character and chorus, push forward the action while they sing to or about the gods. |
