| Resumen: | El objetivo del artículo es indagar sobre los usos sociales de la música en vínculo con las configuraciones de género y las lógicas del cuidado doméstico. Más específicamente, nos interesa estudiar el lugar de la cumbia y la música romántica, ambos géneros subestimados por la crítica estética que los considera de mala calidad y por diversas posiciones ideológicas que los definen como machistas, en la vida de mujeres de sectores populares y medios. A partir de trabajos de campo con jóvenes que asistían a bailes de cumbia en el conurbano bonaerense y mujeres de mediana edad y adultas mayores que formaban parte del club de fans de Ricardo Arjona en Buenos Aires, queremos estudiar los sentidos que ellas les daban a las horas que invertían escuchando su música favorita, yendo a un baile o a un club de fans, las disyuntivas a las que se enfrentaban en relación a las tareas de cuidado del hogar y la familia de las que eran responsables y las negociaciones domésticas que realizaban para dar lugar a momentos que definían como de "placer", "libertad", "celebración". The objective of this article is to consider the social uses of music in relation to the configurations of gender and the logics of domestic care. More specifically, we are interested in studying the place of cumbia and romantic music -two genres underestimated by both aesthetic criticism, which considers them to be of poor quality, and by diverse ideological positions, which define them as male-chauvinistic- in the life of women of the middle and popular sectors. Our study is grounded on the specific fieldwork of young people who attended cumbia dance parties in Buenos Aires Conurbano and with the middle-aged and elderly women who were part of the Ricardo Arjona's fan club in Buenos Aires. We intend to analyze the meanings these women ascribe to the hours invested in listening to their favorite music and going to a dance or a fan club. Also, we will examine the tensions which arise in regard to the duties of administration of the home and family, for those who were responsible, and the domestic negotiations these women carried out in order to be able to experience what they defined as moments of "pleasure," "freedom," and "celebration." |
